It's mid-term time! Please be sure to check your student's grades in Infinite Campus. If you do not have access to IC or have forgotten your access info, please email Deb Hall ASAP. I will be sending home parent signature sheets (for mid-terms) next week which will require that you have access to your student's info on IC. We will also be sending home conference requests later this week (remember that At-risk conferences are on Oct. 15th). I am pleased with the progress of both classes the past week! They are definitely rising to the challenge of Hulstrom and being 7th graders. However, there are still a number of students for whom missing assignments and organizational issues are interfering with academic success. I am having daily conversations with many of these students, but if you would like to discuss some specific strategies that we can implement between home and school, please call me.
** Additional Note - Grades for this week will be posted by Saturday. It is a chemo week so I appologize for the delay. Recently Mondays have been the difficult recovery day for me. While I sincerely hope to be here on Monday 10/11, I let students know that it is a possibility that they will have a guest teacher on Monday. Mid-term report signature sheets will come home with students on Monday as well. Thanks for your understanding and patience.

Week of September 7-10
Change is in the air and there are lots of changes happening at Hulstrom this week!
Due to the rearranging of classes and teaching assignments, many middle school students are changing teachers and class schedules (you should have received an email regarding theses changes).
This has affected my 6th grade classes in the following ways:
**1st period 6th grade AAP students will now have Mr. Paul Kaiser as their teacher.
**6GT math(2nd period), 6 AAP science (now 3rd hour instead of 4th) and 6 AAP math (now 4th hour instead of 3rd) will continue to have a fabulous substitute (Ms. Jamie Hill) until we are able to hire a permanent teacher for this position. I will continue to provide lesson planning and student support for these classes as needed.
I will now be teaching the 7th GT2 math class 2nd hour and the 7th AAP science class 4th hour. While I am sad to be changing just as I was getting to know our wonderful 6th graders, I feel strongly that the changes we are making as a 6-8 team will be best for students. Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions about these changes.
