We don't claim to have all the answers......but we do want to make things easier by letting you know some answers to commonly asked questions from 6-8 parents and students. Look below for postings on questions that have come up and look at the answers we give.

What do we do if we need homework?

Answer:

Do the following:

1) Check the wiki first!

2) If you need resources from your student's locker, you may get them during the day (until 4 pm) by bringing your student's combination to school, signing in at the office, and coming down to the 6-8 wing to access the locker.

3) If you still have questions-- please have your student ask the appropriate teacher upon their return.

Question:

I am not receiving progress reports by email. How can this be resolved?

Answer:

Please let us know if you are not receiving homework emails or if your email changes so that we can continue to send the reports. We do not always receive notification if a report has not been delivered due to the massive number of emails being sent. Please let the staff know if you update or change your address. This ensures complete communication with you and your student about his/her progress.

Question:

I need to be in touch with a teacher and have sent an email. Why did I not hear back today?

Answer:

Teachers at the 6-8 level at Hulstrom have meetings during the first planning periods in the morning and then teach straight through from 9:30 to 3 pm. This leaves no time to check email during this part of the day. We aim to return your call or email within 48 hours if we are not out ill. Thanks for your patience!

Question:

I have received detention notices about gum, tardies, and other rule infractions. Where is detention held?

Answer:

Detention is held during lunch hour. Your student must return the slip they received after taking it home for a signature. They then serve detention the following day in the lunch room.

If they elect not to attend, they will once again serve detention the following day and make a phone call home or to work with the assistance of a teacher.
