Core academic subjects are offered with a selection of electives during the daily schedule. Academic cores follow district curriculum at an accelerated and advanced pacing, and offer a deeper study of important themes, concepts, ideas, and information while developing 21st Century Skills. These skills encourage students to actively engage in public speaking, presentations, research, literacy, and the use of technology.

Electives add an opportunity to explore the fine arts and PE for all students and are added to the core academic curriculum each day. Offerings follow district curriculum at an accelerated and advanced level, and are taught throughout the year. Classes include:
Art, Band, Choir, P.E., Health, Tech Ed, and Chinese as our world language.
6th Graders take part in Human Growth and Development
Offerings for each school year are determined by the master scheduling committee and district requirements.
Extra-Curricular activities enhance the regular school day by providing activities that students can participate in during the school year. Activities include:
· Current athletic offerings include basketball and track. Students interested in sports not offered at Hulstrom may participate at their home school.
· Club offerings include Student Council, National Junior Honor Society, Math Counts, Spelling Bee, Podcasting/History Club, Science Fair, Eco Club,
GEMS, tutoring, journalism, and drama.
· After school enrichment continues through 8th grade and includes altered books, scrapbooking, book club and other requested
activities.
